Korea Halal Expo

The Korea Halal Trade & Economic Expo (KHE), set to take place on 29-31 August 2025, COEX Magok, aims to establish itself as a flagship event for promoting Korea’s halal industry and connecting local businesses with global markets.

The expo will provide a platform for companies to explore new opportunities in the rapidly expanding halal economy, projected to reach USD 10 trillion by 2030. Targeting key international markets such as Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, KHE will be crucial in positioning Korea as a competitive player in the global halal sector.

Expand Halal Certification: A primary objective of KHE is to encourage Korean businesses to obtain halal certification, particularly in sectors like food & beverage (F&B), cosmetics, fashion, and tourism. KHE will provide exhibitors with access to halal certification bodies and offer resources on meeting global certification standards.

Increase Domestic Consumer Awareness: KHE will also aim to raise awareness among Korean consumers about the benefits of halal-certified products, focusing on how halal aligns with ethical, hygienic, and quality standards that appeal to both Muslims and non-Muslims.

Connect Korean Businesses with International Markets: KHE will be a platform for Korean businesses to expand into regions like Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Exhibitors will have the opportunity to meet with international buyers, distributors, and retailers, thus broadening their market reach.

B2B Matchmaking: KHE will organize specialized B2B matchmaking sessions that connect exhibitors with key decision-makers in both local and international markets. This will facilitate new partnerships, trade agreements, and long-term collaborations.

Halal Fashion: With the rise of modest fashion, KHE will emphasize halal-certified and modest clothing brands that cater to both Muslim and non-Muslim consumers. Korea’s fashion industry, known for innovation and trendsetting, is uniquely positioned to tap into the growing demand for modest wear. The expo will provide a platform for fashion brands to showcase modest fashion, hijabs, and other halal-certified apparel to a global audience.

K-Beauty and Halal Cosmetics: As the global leader in beauty innovation, Korea’s K-beauty sector will be a central focus at KHE. Exhibitors in the cosmetics sector will have the opportunity to present halal-certified products, appealing to Muslim consumers in markets like Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Middle East.

Halal Food and Beverages: Korea’s food industry continues to expand its halal-certified offerings. KHE will highlight new halal food products, providing Korean companies a chance to showcase their products to international buyers and explore new trade routes.

Muslim-Friendly Services: KHE will highlight Korea’s growing infrastructure for Muslim tourists, including halal-certified restaurants, prayer facilities, and Muslim-friendly hotels. This focus will help drive tourism and position Korea as an attractive destination for Muslim travelers.

Promote Korea as a Halal Tourism Hub: Korea is becoming increasingly recognized for its efforts in promoting halal tourism. KHE will bolster this reputation by presenting Korea’s offerings for Muslim travelers, further promoting the country as a halal tourism hub.
